Description

The skin is the largest organ of the human body because under a microscope it has been shown to regenerate itself on a daily basis. Its main function is to protect the human body from the outside world and it is a barrier. Therefore is very important to exfoliate the outer layer in order for vitamins and nutrients to enter this barrier.

Cocco Clinique MD PowerPeel Weekly is a deep exfoliator containing high-potency un-buffered Glycolic acid applied in convenient pad form.  Glycolic acid penetrates deeply providing a wide range of cutaneous benefits leaving behind dramatically smooth, polished skin. So, powerful, one weekly application is sufficient to transform the appearance of the skin quickly and with minimal downtime.

Cocco Clinique MD PowerPeel Weekly is a pharmaceutical grade formulation that contains Glycolic acid in concentrations strong enough to cause peeling, but safe enough to be used at home. When used in conjunction with Cocco Clinique MD Vita-C, Chrono Repair PM, or Genesis PM, has a synergistic effect and is tolerated well in the treatment of acne or photo-damaged skin

Mechanism of action of Glycolic Acid at the cellular level. Glycolic Acid is the smallest alpha hydroxy acid at a molecular level, and as such, it can penetrate the skin most easily. It causes desquamation as a result of diminished corneocyte cohesion just above the granular cell layer. Dermal effects include increased collagen and glycosaminoglycan production.
